FAQ

What is a Working Holiday Visa (WHV)?

The Youth Mobility Scheme visa gives you the opportunity to work and travel in the UK for up to two years. It’s the perfect way to discover a new country while earning money to support your stay.

Who can apply for a WHV?

It depends on your age and nationality. Most WHV programs are open to people aged 18 to 30 (sometimes up to 35). See the list of eligible countries above or check the official government website for detailed requirements.

Can Roast Jobs help me with the visa process?

As an agency, we can’t apply for the visa on your behalf, but we’ll guide you through the process, help with documents, and provide support to make it all feel easier and less stressful.

What kind of jobs can I get with a WHV?

Most WHV jobs are in hospitality, tourism, or agriculture. We help you find a job that fits your experience and language level, many positions even come with accommodation included.

When should I apply?

We’ll make sure to secure your job placement first, and then you can apply for your visa. You should apply between 1 and 6 months before your planned departure the earlier, the better.

“I reached out to Roast Jobs to help me find a one-year job in a 3-star hotel located in the Lake District region in England.

I was able to strengthen my English skills, immerse myself in a new culture, adapt to local customs, explore the countryside, and save for my future plans.

I want to thank the entire team for their warm welcome and professionalism.

I highly recommend this agency to help you find a solution tailored to your profile.”

“Roast Job is the best company to find a job abroad. I chose Roast Jobs because of the excellent references and the low cost, but I repeated and continued with them because of their quality of service. These are my photos of my stay in The Lake district and in Mallorca…. what will be mu next destination?”

“Great Agency,
they found me 2 jobs (with a gap due to COVID) in this difficult period, despite my limited English proficiency. Today, I work as a chambermaid in a hotel in Scotland. It’s a pleasant workplace with colleagues from all over the world (forcing me to speak only English). I am improving my English while earning money and exploring the surroundings. The agency takes care of everything, and there’s really nothing to complain about! Perfect. I highly recommend it.
Go for it!”

“Top and professional agency!

Great agency! Inès quickly found me a live-in job in a 4-star hotel restaurant in England. I recommend this agency if you want to, for example, travel with the goal of improving your English or even to explore new places. 😉”

“My adventure with RoastJob went well despite the uncertainties of COVID-19. I left in early February 2020 when the situation was normal, and I had the opportunity to work for a while before being put on furlough. RoastJob was always there to support me despite the uncertainties.

I stayed in the village of Sleaford (East Midlands) where I met very nice and welcoming people. One downside was that we were paid in cash before the pandemic, but I insisted on being paid by bank transfer as I was moving to London at the end of August 2020.

Upon arriving in London, I had to find a job and accommodation on my own because it was challenging for them to assist me at that time, possibly overwhelmed by the situation and other candidates.

Later on, they continued to offer me job opportunities, which is great. I eventually applied for a refund for my expenses in London, and it was accepted.

With the restrictions lifted now, I plan to continue enjoying my English adventure with caution!”
