Kitchen positions:

  • Plongeur: agent de vaisselle
  • Commis Chef: Assiste ses supérieurs dans les différentes parties de la cuisine : vaisselle (s’il n’y a pas de plongeur), pelage de légumes, préparations de bases etc…

Food & Beverage positions:

  • Runner: Serves as a crucial link between the kitchen and the dining area. They deliver dishes to tables and clear them. The runner often represents an entry point into the world of fine dining. While they typically do not engage with customers directly, this role offers room for advancement and helps candidates enhance their understanding of English.
  • Commis Waiter (M/F): Provides support to senior Waiters in serving customers at their tables.
  • Waiter / Assistant Head Waiter / Head Waiter (M/F): The hierarchy of Waiter roles varies depending on the type of restaurant. Traditional establishments may have Waiting positions exclusively, while more upscale venues employ a tiered system. In upscale restaurants, the Head Waiter oversees a section of tables, ensuring that customers’ needs are met, with support from runners, commis waiters, and assistant head waiters. The Assistant Head Waiter steps in when the Head Waiter is absent.
  • Barback: Assists the bartender, maintains the cleanliness of the bar, and ensures the bartender has all the necessary tools and supplies to serve customers.
  • Bartender: Takes orders, prepares customer drinks, handles payments, and manages other bar-related responsibilities.
  • F&B Assistant: Offers assistance with service and bar-related tasks as required.

Hotel positions:

  • Housekeeper: cleaning of rooms, hallways, entryways, etc…
  • Receptionist: responsible for greeting guests, managing check-in and check-out procedures, etc. It is essential for receptionists to have an advanced level of English proficiency as they are the first point of contact with guests. Additionally, the receptionist role is open only to candidates willing to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
