Accommodation

After securing the job, we will help you find accommodation close to your workplace.

It’s important to be aware that accommodations in New Zealand are not provided by employers. We will assist you in the housing search, but the rental contract will be between you and the property owner, and you will be responsible for covering the accommodation costs.

Assistance

Assistance throughout your experience

Your consultant will remain available throughout your stay to address your questions, assist you, and provide guidance if needed during your experience.

Salary & Expenses

Regarding your salary, our candidates typically earn around NZ$684 per week on average for positions in service, bartending, kitchen, reception, or housekeeping.

Plan for the following expenses:

– Transportation costs.

– Visa costs. If you are a french national it will cost you NZ$208 (around €140).

– Maintaining €2500 in your bank account before departure for emergencies.

– In the first month after your arrival, you’ll need to budget for a security deposit for your accommodation, typically equivalent to one month’s rent.

– Rent, which averages between NZ$250 and NZ$300 per week for a studio or shared room.

The cost of living in New Zealand is relatively high compared to the net legal minimum wage earned in the hospitality and restaurant sector. Food, accommodation, outings, restaurants, and bars can be quite expensive.

So, don’t come to New Zealand with the expectation of saving money; rather, come to explore a new culture and enjoy all the advantages offered by the two islands, including mountains, beaches, lakes, tourism, and more, as well as the valuable professional experience you’ll gain through our program.

We recommend that candidates consider staying in a youth hostel or guesthouse, where, in most cases, you won’t be required to pay a security deposit.
