As a volunteer, your main mission is to support the local team in caring for and protecting the elephants. You’ll help with daily tasks such as feeding, bathing, walking, and preparing food for the elephants, as well as assisting the staff during visitor walking tours.
Every day brings new and meaningful experiences. You’ll learn about elephant care, safety procedures, and the special bond between elephants and their trainers. Volunteers also help in maintaining the garden and collecting herbs used for feeding.
This hands-on experience lets you connect closely with nature, support the local community, and make a real difference in the daily lives of these incredible animals.
Schedule Time: Monday to Friday.
Volunteers stay in bamboo apartments surrounded by nature, each accommodating up to four volunteers. Every room has a bathroom with a hot shower. There’s no air conditioning, but the camp’s mountain location keeps the air fresh and the nights pleasantly cool.
During the weekend, volunteers are transferred to the city to enjoy a change of scenery and experience local life. Accommodation is provided in a volunteer house with a kitchen, living room, and three floors, each with two rooms that can host up to three volunteers per room.
Meals are not included during the weekend, giving you the freedom to cook your own meals, explore local restaurants, or share a meal with other volunteers while discovering Thai flavours.
Assistance throughout your experience
Your consultant will be available throughout your stay to answer your questions, assist you, and guide you as needed. Our goal is to make your move abroad smooth, secure, and well-organised, with support every step of the way.
As previously stated, volunteer positions in Thailand do not come with a salary, but your accommodation and meals will be provided at no cost, resulting in very minimal to no expenses during your stay.
Plan for the following expenses:
– Round-trip transportation costs.
– Some pocket money for you to spend at your convenience and for excursions during your days off.
Each day follows a schedule organized by the local team. As a volunteer, you’ll help with the daily care of the elephants and the general maintenance of the camp.
Your tasks may include feeding and bathing the elephants, walking with them around the camp, preparing their food, and assisting visitors during tours. You might also help with gardening and small maintenance tasks to keep the camp running smoothly.
Every day is a chance to learn more about these amazing animals, connect with the local team, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of nature.
No experience needed. You’ll get guidance from local coordinators and a detailed teaching book to support you.
Yes. Volunteers have free time to relax or explore the area. Weekends (usually Saturday and Sunday) are often free, but this can depend on the organisation’s schedule. It’s a great chance to visit nearby towns, go on excursions, or just unwind with other volunteers.
The program fee is paid at registration. To start your placement, just complete the online booking at roastjobs.com, this confirms your spot and lets us officially begin the process on our side.
The fee is 100% refundable if we can’t secure a placement by your preferred departure date.
Great question. The fee covers all the support Roast Jobs provides, like helping you find accommodation, prepare your documents, plan your travel, and get ongoing support while you’re abroad.
Also, part of the fee goes directly to the local organisation, helping them continue their amazing work, since they’re non-governmental and rely on outside support.
You need either a valid passport, travel insurance and And a visa depending on their profile (usually tourist visa).
