Student´s Review: Laetitia recently completed her internship abroad at a seafront hotel in Ireland, where she experienced both the challenges and personal growth that come with living and working internationally.
During her placement, she worked in both kitchen operations and restaurant service and Here’s what she shared with us (translated from French):
« Overall, this experience was enriching, difficult, and memorable at the same time.
I adapted quite well to the local culture and language because I already spoke and understood English. At first, it was difficult to understand some people because of their accent, especially when they spoke quickly, but over time I adapted and improved my listening skills.
During the internship, we also faced some challenges, but even with these difficulties, the experience helped me become more independent, improve my English, and step outside of my comfort zone. »
Unexpected things can happen during an experience abroad, and that is exactly why these opportunities are so valuable. Students learn how to adapt, solve problems, communicate in another language, and grow both personally and professionally.
Her advice for future students is:
« Don’t be afraid to speak English, even if you make mistakes. The most important thing is to practice, communicate, and stay patient during the adaptation process.»
